Our Story – Learning with Heart and Mind

For over 25 years, I have dedicated myself to memory training, brain-friendly learning, and the development of innovative learning methods. What once began as a personal interest is now a successful educational platform with over 1000 learning products, its own academy, books, online courses, and a dedicated team.

From Idea to Learning Workshop

It all began in 1995 with my passion for effective learning. I developed the ALMUT technique, an innovative memorization method that is successfully used in schools today. Inspired by Tony Buzan's Mindmapping technique, hundreds of brain-friendly mind maps, calendars, notebooks, and more were subsequently created – now an integral part of our shop.

Our learning games were specifically designed to activate both hemispheres of the brain. They have measurably increased the thinking performance of many people. This led to a logical step: the founding of Lernwerkstatt Voigt and the establishment of the website www.mindstation.de.

Valuable Companions & the Birth of the Academy

During this time, I met two impressive personalities: Dr. Dieter Böhm and Vera F. Birkenbihl. The latter became a defining figure and source of inspiration. After her death in 2011, it was important to us to keep her methods and ways of thinking alive in our academy.

Teamwork & Family Business

During my sabbatical year, I wrote my first business plan. Thanks to numerous training courses and a strong team – including Olli (IT), Johannes & Stephan (Design), Malte (Data Protection) and Sebastian (Legal) – the company grew steadily. Since 2014, my daughter Anne has also been on board. Together, we expanded the academy into a modern educational platform.

NAS – Neuronal Archiving System: An effective learning strategy for study & profession

Dyscalculia System: Within a weekend, children with difficulties in arithmetic learn the multiplication tables – often with tears of joy.

School & Vocation

Since 1984, I have taught with passion at various schools – from grammar school to primary school. My time at the Sigmund-Jähn-Grundschule with dedicated colleagues and great team spirit was particularly moving. After over 38 years, my teaching service ended in 2022 – but the path of education continues.

Private & Personal

Born in Oderberg in 1959, I began living my passion for learning and teaching early. I am a proud father of two daughters, a four-time grandfather, and happily married. My family is my support and part of the success of Lernwerkstatt. Sports, especially basketball and the Berlin Marathon, also strongly shaped me.

Future with Meaning

Today, the Academy for Learning Methods stands for sustainable, brain-friendly learning. We train trainers, develop new formats, and pass on knowledge – digitally and analogously.

My life's museum is filled with wonderful days – and we write new chapters daily.
